Cracking the WIP!
Autumn is approaching and we will soon be feeling the impact of more inclement weather, so we are pleased to be making good progress on clearing the backlog that built up over the Covid-19 lockdown period. Staff have been back in our “Covid-secure” office where appropriate for several weeks now, and we are working closely with suppliers and clients to get the WIP moving along.
New claim instructions are back to normal levels and we are working hard on completing the works that were held up due to the pandemic. Scotland is still a challenge as the lockdown was longer and all construction had to stop, but we are pleased with progress across the rest of the UK.
Should there be any more lockdowns, local or national, we are confident that we will be able to continue operating just as we did during the first national lockdown.
MA Dry courses are back
MA Dry courses are back, in a Covid-secure environment of course. We ran two very successful courses over the summer and are planning more. Thank you to Edge for hosting the training in their state-of-the-art offices in Redditch.
The courses are open to all suppliers, clients and staff. Please contact Stephen Pomfret to book your place on the next one.
Andy Dakin – Insurance Times Awards judge
We are delighted that Andy Dakin, our Client Development Director, has been asked to judge this years Insurance Times Awards. He joins a prestigious group of people from across the insurance industry who will be attending stage 2 judging meetings scheduled for 20 October. The winners will be revealed on 9 December – best of luck to all those shortlisted.
Andy recently attended one of our MA Dry courses and received a distinction for his mark of 97%. This is the highest mark ever achieved by someone from MA Group – so well done Andy.
NHCC is award winning
NHCC continues to go from strength to strength, and is now officially an award winning business.
James Bush, MD of NHCC, was a finalist in the London and South Institute of Director Awards in the Start Up catgeory. On 11th September he was announced as the winner at a virtual ceremony, and will now be a finalist in the national awards.
The IoD were impressed with his vision of NHCC becoming the UK’s leading customer care services company for new home builders, housing associations and build to rent organisations, and the progress he and NHCC have made so far. James’s focus on high standards and strong processes and practices ensured that he was the winner, as judged by an independent board of judges. Well done James.
NHCC has also been recognised in 2020 by the National Building and Construction Awards for its innovation in developing a bespoke mobile application and business process for supporting the home building industry in retrospective inspections of timber-framed buildings, in relation to fire safety. Winners will be announced on 13th November.
Supporting staff development
At MA Group we support our staff to develop their skills and we invest in their training wherever possible.
Congratulations to Mandie Treadwell in MA Group finance for passing her AAT Level 2 accountancy exams with distinction. Studying and working full time is hard work, so a distinction is particularly impressive. She has now started on Level 3 and we wish her luck.
Kris Lee, one of our validation claims technicians, has passed his first CII exam and is making good progress towards his CII qualification.
