Golf Day is nearly here!
The MA Group annual Charity Golf Day and Dinner is not far off now, and once again we are looking forward to this sell out event. Our charity is The Oxford Youth Action Clinic which supports young people following a kidney transplant, and has benefitted from participants’ generosity over the last three years.
We will be celebrating our successes again this year – MA Assist Supplier of the Year, Virtus Surveyor of the Year and industry awards won by Virtus and Revival – as well as raising money for the charity and having a lot of fun.
This year is even more special as it is the first Golf Day for the newly expanded MA Group and will be the biggest Golf Day and Dinner we have ever laid on.
Revival wins award
Revival were the very proud recipients of the inaugural 2019 Chubb ‘CODE’ Award for work on a claim that best embodies Chubb’s ideals for exceptional policyholder experience.
In a meeting of 200 suppliers on 2nd May, Matt Cooper accepted the award on behalf of Revival from John Latter, UKI Claims Director for a claim managed by Lee and Jerry Hodge of Revival Southern. Huge congratulations and thanks to the whole team at Revival Southern.
CODE is an acronym to summarise how claims should be managed by Chubb and its suppliers:
• C – CARE – Make a personal connection, express empathy and Adapt to the needs of the Insureds.
• O – OWNERSHIP – Take ownership, obtain key information, set clear expectations.
• D – DELIVERY – Effective use of claims diary, timely communications, timely claims resolution.
• E – EXCEED – Exceed requirement.
This is fantastic recognition of the high levels of service we delivered.
New Health, Safety and Technical Manager
As the MA Group is now involved in a wider variety of property repair and restoration works we have appointed a new MA Group manager to oversee Health & Safety and Technical projects across the whole group – Geof Loe. Geof is well qualified for the role with his many years of experience in property repair projects and customer care, as well as his Health & Safety qualifications.
Health & Saftey has always been important to MA Group, so as we continue to grow we now have one central point of responsibility for all things technical and of a health & safety nature.
I Love Claims Home & Commercial Networking lunch
Revival were the headline sponsors for the I Love Claims Networking lunch on 17th May. As always, it was an enjyoable day networking with the great and the good of the property claims world and listening to a very entertaining Rt Hon Ken Clarke CH QC MP.
It was wonderful to see the expanded MA Group represented at the ILC lunch for the first time. Representatives from Revival, MA Assist and Virtus were there updating everyone on the acqusition of Revival and progress on its integration into the MA Group.
Plans are on track for Revival’s transition to the MA Group operating system, Pulse, and to MA Group‘s mobile surveying and scoping app, Scoper. Once the transition is complete we will be able to provide property insurers with a one-stop shop for property claims – from surveying and validation, through to restoration and reinstatement, underpinned by integrated systems, seamless handovers and lower fees for clients. CII Deputy President
We are delighted to announce that Andy Dakin from Virtus has been elected the new Deputy President of the Bolton CII.
Andy has been involved with the council for the past few years, most recently having chaired the careers committee which involves the promotion of the insurance industry at local careers events, engaging with students about what the insurance industry has to offer and assisting with individual career guidance.
Andy said, “It’s an honour to be have been elected as the Deputy President of the Bolton CII and I hope to make a real difference for our members, whilst ensuring the institute’s reputation remains as positive as it currently is.”
Over the next year Andy will be supporting the new President, Kayleigh Penwill, as well as a number of sub-committees, to help ensure that Bolton CII continues to develop its member proposition and maintain its position as one of leading institutes across the UK.
MA Group MAD Awards
Matt Garvey from Virtus was the MADest employee in the MA Group in April. Matt received some outstanding feedback from a Virtus customer, citing his attention to detail, empathy towards her as a client and reassurance throughout the course of her claim:
“I have always found him to be very caring, calm and cool, when I didn’t know which way to turn. Not many employees have so much empathy towards the public, but he always went one step further to reassure me that it would all get sorted out and we are nearly there now. I have trusted him from day 1 and he hasn’t disappointed me at all. It is all very reassuring, and I thank Matthew for everything”

MA Group Charity Golf Day and Dinner

The golf day is a sell out again this year. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone at Magnolia Park in a few days time. Hopefully the weather will as kind to us as it always has in previous years.
Staff, suppliers and clients from all of the MA Group companies will be there, including new attendess from the Revival network.

Alex Kilpatrick from Virtus has once again challenged himself to raise some money for a good cause, but this time it actually involved a little more physical exercise than staying away from his local pub.
He ran the Manchester 10k on the 19th May in aid of The Christie. He finished in just over an hour, raising over £350 for this worthy cause. He was slightly surprised at his time, but very pleased with it, and as you can see from the photo he took after finishing he was a little bit warm.
