Thank you to everyone who supported the MA Group charity golf day and dinner this year. It was our biggest ever golf day and we have raised £7,500.

Gold Day awards
As suual we celebrated the best performances from our supplier and surveyor networks.
We formally presented the Chubb CODE award to Lee Hodge from Revival Southern.
Supplier of 2018 was IPC Construction. The award was collected by Ian and Raya (below).
Runner-up Supplier of 2018 was Willis Construction and third place went to DMB Contracts.
Newcomers of 2018 were T Sumner Smith and Specialist Supplier of 2018was Safeline Environmental, with the award being collected by Stephen Kennedy (below)
Simon Henry was Virtus’s Surveyor of 2018. Unfortunately he was unable to attend so Alex Kilpatrick accepted the award on his behalf.
As usual the golf competiton was fierce, with teams submitting their Stableford scores at the end of the day. This year the winners were:

Luckily for Paul Hayman, no-one managed to win his Harley Davidson by hitting a Hole In One!
Revival went live on the group’s operating system, Pulse, on 1st June. Although the Revival branches are going through a steep learning curve, they are doing well in making the transition and they will soon see the following benefits from using Pulse:
Our clients will also see the benefits soon. Not only will there be increased transparency and better co-ordination of claims with multiple stages, but we will be able to provide the same comprehensive MI and reporting that we provide for other areas of the group, such as MA Assist.
MA Group MAD Awards
Greta Belgrove from MA Assist was the MADest employee in the MA Group in May. Greta received some excellent feedback from one of our client’s Supply Chain Managers. The feedback related to a claim for a vulnerable customer who had been taken advantage of by an unscrupulous builder. Greta was the key contact at MA Assist and the co-ordinator with our contractor TSS who worked tirelessly to put the situation right.
Well done Greta, and TSS.
BIBA Hackathon 2019
MA Group were invited to take part in the annual Hackathon at the BIBA conference last month. Alex Kilpatrick represented us on the Blue Team, alongside staff from Kingsbridge Contractor Insurance, Kingsbridge Insurance Brokers, Dinghy, Larsen Howie and Ecclesiastical.
The Hackathon involves eight teams from across insurance and technology backgrounds working against the clock to find solutions to some of the biggest challenges facing brokers today.
This year’s task was about addressing information overload. The Blue Team identified a specific area of concern for brokers relating to ever changing policy documents that meant it was just too difficult to comprehensively understand all the information out there, especially in the areas of cyber and liability insurance. During the 6 hours of the competition the Blue Team came up with a very smart, simple and innovative solution called Broker Genie, that built upon existing AI tech to collate and identify all the changes to new policy documents in real time, allowing simple and clear comparisons as well as highlighting ambiguities to enable further clarification and ongoing machine learning.
The Blue Team made it through to the final three and had to present their idea to the conference members the next day. Unfortunately, the Blue Team narrowly missed out on winning, however the idea of Broker Genie may well help shape the future Insurance Broking.
