A busy summer

Summer is normally a quieter time for our industry, but in the MA Group it has been busier than ever. The modernisation and integration of Revival has continued at speed with the delivery of several IT projects (see below) and Virtus has carried out a survey with its surveyors and published the results (also below), whilst also dealing with summer storms. And NHCC has been signing up even more clients!

Revival update

The modernisation of and investment in Revival continues apace. Systems developments in our operating system, Pulse, that have recently gone live include:

  • a complete new suite of branded, well-designed documents that populate using information in Pulse and auto-generate at the click of a mouse,
  • online, real-time diary management of technicians, and
  • online asset registers and diary management of assets, giving real-time instant information on capacity available and location of all assets.

The next IT project will be the customisation of Scoper for Revival technicians to use in the field, integrating into Pulse for instant updates on moisture readings and estimates with photos, videos and costs.

Revival has recently published a case study setting out how Revival was recognised for its combination of technical expertise, organisation skills and empathy by winning the Chubb CODE award earlier this year at a Supplier Awards ceremony. The  2019 Chubb ‘CODE’ Award is awarded for a claim that best embodies Chubb’s ideals for exceptional customer experience. You can read the full story by CLICKING HERE

Virtus delivers excellence with an engaged supplier network

Virtus recently sent out a questionnaire to all of its surveyors asking for candid views on the Virtus business, engagement, communication and service delivery. They were thrilled to receive a 92% response rate – a strong indicator of the network’s engagement.

The results of the survey were very positive with 100% of the surveyors who responded saying that the Virtus team is very accessible, and 97% of all respondents saying that “Virtus communicates effectively“.

94% of respondents also had great feedback for Virtus‘s own bespoke, onsite validation software, Scoper:

“It makes the collection of data easy and straight forward, since the form has been well organised and planned”.
“The IT System is very efficient and allows scopes to be created quickly and accurately.”

Finally, 100% of respondents to the questionnaire said that they would recommend a friend to work with Virtus in a surveying capacity.

NHCC recruitment speeds up

NHCC continues to grow, with more and more customer care and remedial works coming on board. They have recruited two new members of staff:

Ben Sharples has started working as a Project Manager. He has many years of project management experience in the housebuilding industry, initially with NHBC and latterly as UK timber consultnat for BM Trada, as well as a degree in business property management. He will be working alongside Tom English ensuring the smooth running of NHCC repair projects and carrying out surveys and scopes.

   
Tony Peck has also started working for NHCC as Site Manager for a large project NHCC has recently won. He will be overseeing the works at a large site in Bedfordshire where NHCC is designing, implementing and managing customer care snagging and remedial works for all the properties on the site. Tony has worked for many years as a site manager for several large house builders and we are thrilled he has come on board.

MA Group MAD Awards

The July MAD award went to Adam Tansley in  MA Group. The internet and phones failed on 22nd July and Adam reacted immediately to get the matter resolved, which took longer than usual.  As a consequence Adam had to come into the office late in the evening to check that the “fixes” had worked and to test the system before everyone came to work the following morning. Well done Adam.

The August MAD award went to Ryan Scott in MA Assist.  Paul Hayman had a client meeting scheduled for 3pm. In true CEO style, at 12 noon he asked Ryan to design a specific Health & Safety page for the MA Group Extranet, detailing our H&S capabilities, competent personnel and relevant qualifications. Within 2 hours Ryan had done exactly that, ready for Paul to present at his client meeting later in the afternoon. Well done to Ryan, who dropped what he was doing and did what was required.

MA Dry course

Well done to everyone who attended the MA Dry course this month – everyone passed. According to our trainer, Jerry, all attendees were enthusiastic and keen to learn. Congratulations to Paul Duncan from Edinmore who passed with distinction.

Mark Hearmon from H3 Facilities, Simon Price from Pro-Assist, Hilary Teague-Rowland  from Wells Kent, Mike Diggins from Willis Construction, Matt Saunders from BMC East and Peter Nze from Acresfield. Well done all of you.

Reverse VAT charge postponed

At the eleventh hour HMRC have decided to postpone the introduction of the new reverse VAT rules for builders for 12 months as it became clear that many smaller businesses were still unware of the new rules. MA Group were ready for this new way of treating VAT for construction works, but will now hold fire until 1st October 2020.
